Anyone remember those old sitcoms from the 80’s, like “Three’s Company”, “Growing Pains”, “Family Ties”, “Who’s the Boss?”, and “Full House”? Now, I am not in anyway endorsing any of those shows (some were too filthy for me, and some were just way to “cute” — never a fan of Mary Kate and Ashley!), but the titles of these shows actually speak some pretty powerful biblical truth regarding God’s purpose for us.
Beginning this Sunday, I will be preaching a series of messages on “80’s Sitcoms on Purpose”, beginning this week with “Three’s Company”. I can pretty much guarantee that you won’t hear anything quite like this in any other church!
Sunday is also Mothers Day, and we will be taking time in the morning service to honor all the ladies present. Following the service, we will be headed to Golden Years Senior Center (across from the Dollar General Store) for a Mothers Day Luncheon. The ladies and girls will be our honored guests as the HonorBound men’s ministry and Royal Rangers boys ministry prepare and serve the lunch that day.
