Passion Weekend
I don't need to tell you that this is the weekend the church world celebrates the greatest event of history -- the substitutionary death of Jesus on the cross, and His resurrection into eternal life. We celebrate it because of WHAT THAT MEANS FOR US! If you've never really stopped to think about what it means for you personally, you need to join us at First Assembly this weekend. If you already know about it and appreciate it, and praise God for it, you still need to join us!
We are considering this weekend the last three cries that divided history. Tonight at 7:00 will be our Good Friday service here at the church. I will be speaking on "Crucify Him!", and we will also be enjoying music and drama ministry from Venus Lunsford and the "First Assembly Players", and will be celebrating Communion together.
Sunday morning at 7:30 will be our Sunrise Service at the church, in which I will be speaking on "He is Risen!". That service will also include music and drama from Sheila Jerby and Shirley Mendoza, and will be followed at 8:30 by our Easter Breakfast downstairs. Several ladies are working together to see that we have a wonderful meal provided that morning.
Then at 10:30, we will join together for our big Easter worship service, with special music from Julie Glennemeier and Sheila Jerby, and my challenging message: "Go Tell!".
I certainly hope that being with us at First Assembly will be part of your Easter plans this weekend.
Trusting God,
Pastor Dave Pugh <><
