What a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, with a tremendous service Sunday morning outdoors, breaking ground for our new facility! Then, when we got our precious rain fall last night, it was the icing on the cake! I trust that you all had a great weekend, and for those of you who were traveling or otherwise occupied, please know that you were greatly missed.
In a couple of hours, my family will be taking off for Woodston for our annual Family Camp sponsored by the Kansas Assemblies of God. This is an incredible week of services and activities held in a rustic camp environment, designed specifically for a powerful move of God’s Spirit, and for unmatched fellowship. I encourage you to try to slip this year’s Family Camp into your schedule, if not for the whole week, at least for a service or two. Dan Crabtree, a professor at Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri will be the morning speaker and Dr. Gary Denbow, the president of that college will be the evening speaker. Morning services will be at 10:00 tomorrow through Saturday and 10:30 Sunday; evening services are at 7:15 tonight through Saturday and 6:30 Sunday.
Add to that incredible children’s services and youth activities, a fully staffed nursery (coordinated by my wife), three square meals a day and a carb-filled snack shop after every evening service, and you have yourself a camp meeting!
We WILL have a service here in P-burg Sunday morning at 10:30 for those who don’t wish to make the 35-mile drive to Woodston. Pastors Todd and Donna will be holding down the fort here that morning (no coffee time, Sunday School or Kids Church). We do encourage as many as possible, however, to be part of the Sunday morning service at Woodston. Then, we will shut down our evening activities here at home so that everyone will feel released to join us at Woodston for our last service of the year.
I look forward to seeing you at Woodston, eating with you, praying with you, worshiping with you, visiting with you — whatever!
