Convoy of Hope

Dear Fellow Minister: I am writing to give you an update on the Fellowship’s response to Hurricane Gustav and our preparations for subsequent storms threatening our coasts. Convoy of Hope, with the help of police escorts, was one of the first to establish distribution points in the devastated region. Truckloads of food, water, ice and other life essentials are being distributed. This relief effort will continue for some days as 1.4 million are without power and many will be returning to their homes. Once again our congregations and districts are rising to the occasion and meeting human need on a large scale. Many churches have opened their doors and facilities to evacuees. Others have sent teams to assist in the relief efforts. If you desire to reach out to hurricane victims, please know your offering will be a blessing at this time. Because of our partnership with Convoy of Hope, for every $1 donated we’re able to deliver $7 worth of relief supplies to people in need this hurricane season. Three additional storms have formed in the Atlantic. Our relief teams are poised to respond if needed. We will continue to provide you with reports of the relief and recovery efforts at ag.org and convoyofhope.org. And we will provide a full accounting of how funds are used. Please continue to pray for our nation and people who need to discover the hope found in a personal relationship with Jesus. In Christ, Picture (Device Independent Bitmap) George O.
