Every way
Good morning!
Wow! What an awesome Festival of Missions we have had so far this year! We have been blessed and challenged by speakers such as Dwain Jones, Aaron Rust, Mark Oberbeck and Chuck Kackley!
This Sunday, we will conclude this years festival, and you won't want to miss it! First, in the morning service, I will be speaking on this year's theme, "Every Way", sharing my heart and vision for missions. Then, at 6:00pm, we will have our International Potluck Missions Banquet at the Huck Boyd Center. We are encouraging everyone to come and bring an ethnic dish(es) with you, for a "taste of the planet"! After dinner, we will see the powerful video, "Every Way", and will give everyone an opportunity to decide how they will be involved in helping us reach the world this year in EVERY WAY possible!
If you have not yet signed up for the banquet, I need to hear from you as soon as possible! Please reply to let me know how many we need to set up for, and what dish(es) you plan to bring.
Thanks, and we look forward to having you join us this Sunday!!

Missions Festival continues....
Good morning, church family! What a great start we had Sunday to our Festival of Missions '09! I still continue to hear reports of how God used Dwain Jones to minister to hearts and lives while he was with us. As I said Sunday night, we're just getting warmed up! This Sunday is going to be a great day together, I assure you. First of all Aaron Rust, Assemblies of God missionary to Namibia, is going to be with us in the morning service. Many of you who have been around awhile know Aaron, as these are his old stomping grounds. He grew up in K-town, and pastored the old Pleasant Green Assembly of God for awhile. I will tell you that he is an excellent missionary who is consumed with passion for Africa. Then, at 6:00pm will be our Speed the Light Rally, with Mark Oberbeck speaking. Mark is the pastor at Northridge Assembly of God in Grand Island, Nebraska. For 20 years, he served as District Youth Director in Iowa, and led that district to become one of the strongest states nationwide in Speed the Light giving. He has a great passion for God and for revival, which has resulted in a passion for missions. The rally Sunday evening will take on a "youth" oriented flavor, and we are expecting a good showing from our Rock Solid youth group, some 30-kids strong! All who come Sunday will receive a free gift, and afterward we will be taking the youth, as well as Mark and his family to Pizza Hut. I can't wait to see what God is going to do this week!!!! Festival of Missions '09
Good morning!
I have been looking forward to this coming Sunday for more than a year!
Sunday, we will kick off Festival of Missions '09! Our theme this year is "Every Way", and we will be celebrating the many ways in which God is reaching our world, and challenging everyone to be a part of this world outreach.
I have been looking forward to this Sunday because of our guest speaker. Dwain Jones is the representative of Calcutta Mission of Mercy, Huldah Buntain's incomparable mission that has been reaching people and meeting needs for many years. Dwain is a sought-after speaker who is a very anointed and gifted communicator of the gospel. You will thrill to his ministry this week, at 10:30am and at 6:00pm. Get ready to laugh, cry, and to be challenged to your core!
I look forward to seeing you Sunday!

Fruit Basket Upset
It's good to be back in the good old U S of A, today, and I am looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow -- I hope that worshipping with us at First Assembly is in your plans for the weekend!
Remember that good old classic kids game, "Fruit Basket Upset?" Tomorrow morning, with the help of the Lord, that will be the subject of the message I intend to bring. Come ready for a good time, and come ready to be challenged!
Then, tomorrow evening at 6:00, Steve and Karen Jester will be with us. Steve and Karen are missionaries representing Africa's Hope. I know that you will enjoy getting acquainted with this fine couple! We would like for you to bring some finger foods to enjoy a time of fellowship as we hear about the burden God has given Steve and Karen for Africa.
I hope and pray that you will be here tomorrow!

"Every One"
Pastor's message for Sunday, October 19 TEXT: 2 Peter 3:9 Before we focus on "every one", we have to consider "anyone"; in other words, God is interested not just in "the world", but in each individual. I. God is not willing that anyone should be lost A. Think of the worst sinner you know -- God does not want that person lost! B. Think of some of the worst criminals known to mankind, such as William Bonin and Ted Bundy -- both found Christ before they were executed, because God didn't want them to be lost! C. Think of some of the worst dictators you know, such as Omar al-Bashir and Osama ben Ladin -- God doesn't even want them to be lost! II. God wants everyone to be saved A. There are 4.4 billion in the world who have not had an adequate witness B. If God is concerned about the worst of offenders, what about those who have not heard? III. Two reasons why the Rapture has not yet occured A. God wants more people to be saved -- and the Church has stepped up to the plate in this matter. It is reported that an average of 4 1/2 people per minute are coming to Christ! 40 new churches are planted daily! The world wide Assemblies of God has over 5400 missionaries in 168 countries of the world! B. He is giving us more opportunities to reach the lost IV. What can we do to reach the lost now? A. Be baptized in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 1:8 B. Begin at home -- accept YOUR missions appointment to the field! C. Recognize the work of missionaries who take this gospel to cultures and lands away from here, throughout Kansas, the United States, and the ends of the earth 1. Pray regularly for the missionaries we support 2. Make a monthly faith promise so that our church can support our missionaries financially 3. Give generous offerings everytime a missionary visits our church There are four absolutes concerning the lost: 1. God does not want even one soul lost. 2. Those who never hear the gospel will be eternally lost. 3. Jesus commanded us to tell them. 4. If we don't, we will be held responsible.0

Every One!
What an incredible Missions Festival we have had this year! If you have missed any of it, you've been cheated! First, Solomon Wang joined us for two outstanding services, and last week, Jay Risner thrilled old and young alike in the morning service, while the young people of Rock Solid and Pastor Donna Toomer ministered powerfully that night.
Well, this week it all wraps up, and I encourage you to join us. First of all, at 10:30 Sunday morning, I will speaking on this year's festival theme, "Every One". Along with some help from others in the congregation, you will get to hear your pastor's heartbeat for missions. Although I'm not the "Wang Man", or a ventriloquist like Jay, the Word I have for this week is from God, and therefore anointed. I do believe you will be greatly challenged.
Then, at 6:00pm, join us at the Kansas National Guard Armory Building for our International Potluck Missions Banquet. We would like for you to not only come, but also bring your favorite ethnic dish along with you to share. We will all be blessed by the presentation of "Every One", a missions musical on DVD that is powerful! Afterward, we will all be challenged to take the things we have heard the last 3 weeks and respond in a very practical way.
Here's how I need your help today. One of the things we do is produce a menu of all the food that is brought to the banquet. I am trying to get as much of that done in the next couple of days as possible, because to do it all Sunday afternoon would be pretty impossible (I know, nothing's too hard for God, but I'm not God!!!!) So if you have not yet signed up, if you could reply to this email to let me know what you plan to bring, you don't know how much that would help me!!!
God bless, and we will plan to see you Sunday!!

Missions Festival '08 Continues...
Those who were able to join us last Sunday now know why I look forward so much to Festival of Missions! We're off to a great start -- Dr. Solomon Wang did a FANTASTIC job last week, didn't he?
Hey, we're just getting warmed up! I want to encourage you to be with us this Sunday for week 2. First, Jay Risner is going to be with us in the 10:30am service. Jay has been actively involved in children's ministries for over 28 years. He served in the professional entertainment industry in the late '70s, and in 1980, he and his wife took what they had taught and produced in the secular entertainment world and went into full time ministry using their gifts and talents for the Lord.
Jay was a children's pastor for 10 years before heading to the mission field in 1990 as coordinator of children's ministries for East Africa. While in Kenya, he performed and produced a children's TV show that is reaching today over 22 million people each week. He currently oversees full production of the show. Today, Jay works as Children's Ministries Specialist International for the Assemblies of God World Missions, traveling across the world training, performing, ministering, and developing children's ministries in many nations.
Jay is a very gifted communicator not only to children, but adults as well. I can tell you that we are going to have a blast Sunday morning. The children will also be upstairs; they will love Jay, and so will you.
Then, at 6:00pm we will have our Speed-the-Light Rally. Speed-the-Light is the missions arm of our youth department (or youth arm of our missions department, however you choose to look at it), providing vehicles, printing and sound equipment for all our missionaries. It is so vital to the overall effectiveness of our missionaries that we are dedicating an entire service to Speed-the-Light! Rock Solid (our local youth ministry) and Pastor Donna Toomer will be ministering in that rally, and you will want to be here for it! Everyone who comes will receive a free gift.
We look forward to having you all join us this Sunday for Festival of Missions 08!
