Stars celebrate "Race of a Lifetime" Nationwide Sleepover
Stars MPact group celebrated the Nationwide Sleepover by what else? Sleeping over, of course!
Heartland Worship Center Stars, Agra KS, invited Phillipsburg Stars to join them as they participated with girls all over the nation in the "Race of a Lifetime."
Girls third through fifth grade played games, ran relays, made crafts and were challenged by Heartland Stars Sponsor, Janie Ragsdale, to run the race of life strong to the finish. A surprise visit by Ranger Bob who built a fire outside the fellowship hall provided
time to enjoy weiners and marshmallows roasted over an open fire.
"Called To Stardom" was the Sleepover theme this year with girls all across the nation participating in a night of fun and excitement. Phillipsburg Assembly joined Heartland Worship Center to learn more about what "shining for Jesus" really means. Philippians 2: 14-15 provided the biblical background for the sleepover: Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.
The girls created bracelets with stars and letter spelling out the word "stars," fashioned star-shaped magnetic picture frames and made a balloon-face image of themselves along with positive character traits they like about themselves.
